HALF UNITED makes leather bracelets that are specifically designed to represent our partnership with those in need in Fiji. Fiji is a French Polynesian island in the South Pacific. While the country and landscape is one of the most beautiful in the world, there is still much help needed among the Fijian people. HALF UNITED wants to make a difference in different landscapes of the world. With this stated, we knew we had an amazing opportunity with Fiji. When evaluating how our brand could help, we dug deep into the thought process of what the Fijian people needed. We asked how we could empower the people and make a difference that would last. HALF UNITED wants to see the fruit of our labor long after our initial investment. The “Honeycomb” and “Honeybee” bracelets represent HALF UNITED’s ability to provide beehives to those in need in Fiji. In addition to this, HALF UNITED partners with a school that serves the children around Labasa, Fiji. Our customers have the opportunity to help provide meals to these children in need as well as fund a school that provides vocational education to children for long-term sustainable employment. One major issue with helping others is the lack of long-term help. Many times, organizations will enter a country only to provide short-term help that actually can hurt in the long term. Often times, short-term resources are provided in response to an emergency and once the aid is gone the people of the country are back to square one. There is no empowerment of the people to work and HALF UNITED believes in empowering the people of Fiji in a way that creates change in the long run. Our aid to the Fijian people through the school as well as beehive funding allows the economy to be stimulated. Fijian people work the hives to provide honey and wax that can be sold. This provides jobs and a sense of purpose for people in need! When the people feel empowered and purposed, change is inevitable. The people who were in need actually are given the power to be the change that is needed. When our leather bracelets are sold, this is the purpose behind our bracelets. Our customers have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger! The brass hex nuts and washers on these leather bracelets represent the rugged farm tools needed to grow healthy food. When we think of farming, we think of the classic field workers laboring for food! That is the symbolism that we want our customers to see! The Fijian people work hard to farm and provide food and our bracelets represent the funds that we have donated there! The symbol of the hexagon represents the shapes in beehives. The bees provide honey and wax to the people of Fiji, which can be sold and put into the economy. The symbolism of these bracelets is very thought out and intriguing. When someone asks a customer about their HALF UNITED bracelet, the customer can tell the story of our brand and how we exist to help others in need. The leather in our leather bracelets comes from Georgia! With this stated, all of the components of our bracelets are handmade in the United States and assembled in Wilmington, NC at the HALF UNITED headquarters. We believe that leather could be a new avenue for HALF UNITED and we are excited that our leather bracelets have been such a huge success. Currently the “Honeycomb” bracelet is offered in black leather, bronze leather, brown leather, and natural leather. These leather bracelets are wrap bracelets, which allows a different style than our “Honeybee” bracelets. Our customers have the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of fashion and philanthropy with the wrap bracelets. We have even seen people using our wrap leather bracelets as necklaces. This truly is thinking outside the box! The “Honeybee” leather bracelets are sold in white, black, and natural. While “Honeycomb” leather bracelets are wrap bracelets, the “Honeybee” bracelets are not. They can be considered the little sibling of the “Honeycomb”. With this stated, they still provide the same symbolism of all the great things that HALF UNITED has done in the wonderful country of Fiji. All in all, our leather bracelets are one of a kind. The story and symbolism of these products is truly amazing. When HALF UNITED took off, it was because of our “Fighting Hunger” necklaces. However, our leather bracelets have proven to be a huge success among so many people. We never imagined that our leather bracelets would have been such a huge success. We are honored that our customers want to represent the work that is done in Fiji. At HALF UNITED, we want to be the change that the world needs and our customers are helping us do that!
